Nothing says cozy family time like a holiday movie marathon — and in our home, we love to make it extra memorable with themed Christmas Movie Menus! If you’re new to this tradition, think of it as adding a heaping dash of Christmas magic to your favorite films by pairing them with creative, themed snacks and meals that make the whole experience feel festive and fun.
For those of you who’ve been around for our earlier themed movie menu posts, welcome back! We’ve done everything from Disney classics to action-packed adventure films, but this holiday season, we’re bringing the Christmas spirit front and center. Get ready for fun twists on holiday classics that are sure to make your family’s holiday movie nights unforgettable.
SETTING UP YOUR CHRISTMAS MOVIE NIGHT
A Christmas Movie night is all about getting everyone involved. First, let the kids (or anyone else joining in) help choose the movie! Print out these movie menu cards and let someone pick one out of a Santa hat. Next decide how DIY you want to go. The beauty here is that you can opt for minimal DIY (frozen and pre-made) to 100% from scratch cooking lessons for the littles. From grocery shopping to simple food prep, the whole family can be involved in making the magic of the movie come to life. Whether you go full DIY on your menu or keep it simple with pre-made holiday snacks, the important part is just spending time together. Personally, there are a lot of nights that I’m feeling a bit burnout so I’ll only include movie menu’s to be chosen that I know I can get pre-made with limited effort. Other times I love to make it a half day adventure and go all out using the menu’s as a cooking class and science experiment (mixing colors, baking, etc).
Once your food is ready, grab some cozy blankets, set up a Christmas movie “picnic” in front of the TV, and let the festive movie magic begin! Don’t forget to snap some photos and tag us @DearFellowMoms if you post — we love seeing your holiday-inspired movie menus come to life!
