Hey there fellow moms! If you are here, you are probably looking to find the right skincare routine for you. Maybe your routine is high maintenance, or just not working for your skin need. Been there, felt that. It took me a while to find a consistent routine that worked well for my skin, and I hope this routine help you find the right one too. Before we start, know that the products I use work for nearly all skin types but the best option is always visiting a dermatologist and getting a professional opinion. You should make it a habit to go at least once a year to discuss changes in your skin and give yourself a full body check regularly (especially if you have a family history of skin conditions). So, with that said, here are the easiest and most effective AM & PM Skincare Routines for Moms.

Do moms need special skincare? Yes. Why, you ask? We have no time, higher stress, and our children ages us 100x faster (maybe not really, but it feels like it). The essentials for any moms skincare routine is to be simple, affordable, and effective. With that said, the products you buy must be high quality, and they aren’t cheap, but they last and their value is worth it. Besides the products you use, habits also have a major factor on skin health and clarity. My first recommendation is to up the fruits and veggies, limit sugar and processed foods, and drink around 64oz of water a day. Your skin will thank you!

AM ROUTINE

  1. I always start my day by washing my face in cold water. Yes, cold. It’s good for you and once you build it into your routine you begin looking forward to it. Cold water depuffs and  make pores appear smaller, but honestly it just feels great to wake up that way. I wash my face with BeautyBio “The Balance” cleanser.

  2. I air dry my face or use a single use towel. Don’t rub bacteria on your face after you just washed it (because, eww).

  3. Vitamin C Serum, my favorite is the BeautyBio “The Daily”. A little goes a long way and makes a huge difference in skin tone and glow. Vitamin C takes time to work, so be patient and stay consistent.

  4. Eye Cream and Moisturizer. My favorites are QMS intensive eye care and BeautyBio “Zenbubble”. It is essential that these first layers are light and airy and provide a beautiful and smooth canvas for make up.

  5. Sunscreen. Love it, live it, believe in it. Sunscreen is one of the most powerful actions you can take every day to effect your future health. I love the Tula “Protect and Glow” sunscreen for my daily coverage.

  6. Make Up (Or not). I love taking one day a week when I let my skin breath and go without make up, but you do you. With this skincare routine, I hope you are filled with a new found confidence that gives you make up optional skin every day.

PM ROUTINE

  1. First, remove that make up and cleanse. At night I wash with warm water and I use a chemical exfoliator (amazing for acne!). I have been using Glytone for years and it is a product I will likely never change. It causes redness at first but your skin gets used to it, just be sure to only use it once a day. Air dry your skin.

  2. Retinol. Yes, every woman’s best friend (besides diamonds and snacks of course). Now, if you’ve used retinol before and not loved it, it was either too strong or weak. Real retinol is yellow so if yours didn’t work, it was probably white in color. If yours caused redness and skin dryness it was probably too strong. Retinol takes time to work and you need time to build up to full strength, but with daily application it slows the clock of aging. I swear by and will NEVER in a million years stop using AlphaRet Overnight Cream and EyeMax AlphaRet Overnight Cream. I have also had my eye on their “Interfuse Face and Neck” cream for lines, so if you’ve used it please comment so I can validate spending more money on skincare this month. Thanks.

  3. My nighttime creams are heavier than my daily moisturizers since they make the skin so soft and rejuvenated, but are too thick for under make up. I love the BeautyBio “The Quench” and “The Quench Eye”

  4. Finally, a quick swipe of my Dime lash boost serum and I am ready for the night.

WEEKLY EXTRAS

A few nights a week I add in facemasks and at home micro needing. Below are a few of my favorite masks and a link to my GloPro microneedling too. To me, taking 1-2 nights a week to wrap up in a facemask and binge-watch a Netflix show, take a bath, or curl up with a good book are the best ways to force myself into self care, even when I don’t feel like it. But it’s kind of like going to the gym, I’m always happy I did it.

I hope you are inspired by these incredibly easy, 5 minute AM & PM skin care routines and are one step closer to finding the right one for you. Finding the perfect skincare routine takes work and a lot of learning about your skin needs and tendencies in the process. When you find the right one, you will be amazed by your porcelain looking skin and your confidence will sky rocket. Are you ready for your makeup routine will be optional? I hope you are filled with a new found confidence that makes you proud to go without make up and gives you the skin you’ve always wanted. Lastly, remember ladies, it’s not about stopping aging it’s about aging gracefully and being happy in the skin you’re in!
